Thank you to everyone who took part in the recent consultation on the draft Alanvale Neighbourhood Plan, held from 30 May to 28 June 2026. We received more than 60 submissions through Council's Tomorrow Together page and direct emails, and more than 15 people attended the community drop-in session to speak with Council planners about the project.

We appreciate everyone who took the time to share their views and feedback.

Council officers are now reviewing all feedback received and carrying out further investigations into matters raised during consultation. This includes additional work relating to natural values, heritage and land-use attenuation. The results of this work will help inform any changes that may be made to the draft Neighbourhood Plan.

Council officers are also exploring potential planning and infrastructure approaches that could be available if Council decides to progress the Neighbourhood Plan.

This includes:

• Developing a draft Infrastructure Funding Framework to consider options for the equitable funding and delivery of key infrastructure across the area.
• Preparing draft Specific Area Plan (SAP) provisions as a possible way to implement elements of the Neighbourhood Plan.
• Investigating the scope of a potential planning scheme amendment, including possible rezoning of land within the Neighbourhood Plan area.

It is important to note that this preparatory work does not represent a final decision by Council. Any decision to progress the Neighbourhood Plan, a Specific Area Plan, or a planning scheme amendment would require further consideration by Council and would be subject to the relevant statutory processes.

A report summarising the consultation process and feedback received will be prepared and presented at a future Council meeting. People who provided feedback or registered their attendance at the community drop-in session will be notified before the meeting.
