Help us develop our Street Tree Master Plan

The City of Launceston is developing a Street Tree Master Plan to help guide how we care for and grow trees in our streets and public spaces – now and into the future.

While Launceston is known for its leafy parks and significant trees, the urban forest that people enjoy today only covers around 19% of the urban area and lacks species diversity.

This Master Plan will help deliver the bold target of 40% canopy coverage across our municipality by 2040 as outlined in the Urban Greening Strategy.

Thank You for Your Feedback

The consultation on the Street Tree Master Plan has now closed and your feedback is being reviewed.

Thank you to everyone in the Launceston community who shared their thoughts and insights. Your input will help ensure the Master Plan reflects the needs and preferences of the community, guiding the development of an urban forest that benefits everyone.

Memo The short survey closed on Sunday 20 July 2025.

50th Tree You can still mark your favourite street tree on the map and share a picture or comment explaining why it’s your favourite.
