Help us develop our Street Tree Master Plan and win one of 3 x $50 gift vouchers!

The City of Launceston is developing a Street Tree Master Plan to help guide how we care for and grow trees in our streets and public spaces – now and into the future.

While Launceston is known for its leafy parks and significant trees, the urban forest that people enjoy today only covers around 19% of the urban area and lacks species diversity.

This Master Plan will help deliver the bold target of 40% canopy coverage across our municipality by 2040 as outlined in the Urban Greening Strategy.

How you can get involved:

We need to hear from the Launceston community to ensure the Street Tree Master Plan is reflective of the opinions and insights of the local community so that the city can deliver an urban forest that provides maximum benefits to all. To have your say:

  1. Complete the short survey below. Survey closes Sunday 20 July 2025.
  2. Mark on the map your favourite street tree in Launceston and share a picture or comment why it's your favourite! This will stay open for you to continue to share!
  3. Click the + Follow button at the top of the page to stay up to date on the project!

Your feedback will be used to inform the early stages of developing the Street Tree Master Plan. We will come back to you later in the year for further input once we have prepared the draft Master Plan to ask you what you think.
